PACES

Overview

Texas A&M University and San Jacinto College have received an award from the National Science Foundation to offer asynchronous and live-training for researchers at emerging institutions. PACES (Providing Accelerated Cybertraining for Emerging Scientists) will promote the adoption and advancement of cyberinfrastructure (CI)-enabled research at partnering institutions through hands-on training in CI utilization, data science, coding, and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).

PACES will provide annual workshops at both introductory and advanced levels for researchers seeking to incorporate advanced CI and AI/ML and data science approaches into their current workflows and scientific fields. Introductory training will focus on modern CI resources and utilization, as well as basic concepts in coding and data management. At the advanced level, PACES will provide specialized training and consulting for researchers addressing challenges in natural hazard mitigation, chemical and material design, genomics, geological sciences, and economics. PACES will provide monthly virtual training sessions and web-based resources in support of both tracks.
