MATLAB Seminar at Texas A&M University: Speeding Up MATLAB Applications

Speaker: Abhishek Gupta, Sr. Team Lead, Application Enginnering, Mathworks
Date/Time: November 7, 2016 @ 1:30 - 3:30pm
Location: Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB) - Room 1105

Write better MATLAB code by joining a MathWorks engineer at a free tutorial. Faculty and students are welcome to attend the session scheduled for November 7th at 1:30 PM in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB)), Auditorium 1105. This event is hosted by High Performance Research Computing (HPRC) @ Texas A&M University.

In this session, we will demonstrate simple ways you can improve and optimize your serial code to boost execution speed by orders of magnitude. We will also address common pitfalls in writing MATLAB code, and explore the use of the MATLAB Profiler to find bottlenecks. Demonstrations will show you how to apply these techniques to problems that arise in typical applications.

Highlights include:
  • Understand memory usage and vectorization in MATLAB
  • Address bottlenecks in your programs
  • Efficient indexing and manipulations
  • Utilizing additional processing power
  • Free pizza and soft drinks served at 3:30 PM.

We hope you can join us. Please contact the MathWorks account manager with any questions at 508-647-7016 or tmathieu@mathworks.com.
