The advent of "Big-Data" has revolutionized Biology forever. However, handling "Big-Data" requires both specialized skills and computer processing power. In this presentation we will discuss how we adapted to the Big-Data revolution by developing an interdisciplinary learning environment for the teaching of "Big-Data" to Life Sciences students. Further, we will also discuss how the ever increasing need for even more computer power led us to slowly adopt the Supercomputer as our preferred venue for both teaching and research. Finally, we will summarize our initial efforts to port some of the web-based computer tools developed for Biology to be used by the "Materials Sciences Genome Project."
