AMS User Interfaces
AMS provides two different interfaces to users:
Web Interface
The web interface provides a complete and historical view of your HPC resources.
Command Line
The command-line interface may be accessed to by a command on login nodes of a machine:
Ada
On Ada, the command is "myproject" whose usage is listed below:
Myproject -d accountNo: Set accountNo as the default project account -e YYYY-MM-DD: Specify end date (00:00 AM) for job records (-j option must be specified.) -h: Display this help and exit. -j accountNo (or 'all'): Produce the job records in current fiscal year for the selected project account or all project accounts when 'all' is given. -l: List all the active local project accounts. -p accountNo: List uncomplted jobs for accountNo. -s YYYY-MM-DD: Specify start date (00:00 AM) for job recrods. (-j option must be specified.) -c: Display job records with line length <= 80 chars. (-j option must be specified.)
Examples below show the most common usage of "myproject" command:
(1) list all projects: example 1,
(2) set a default project: example 2,
(3) list job details: example 3, and
(4) list pending jobs: example 4.
Example 1: "myproject -l"
===================================================================== List of xxx's Project Accounts --------------------------------------------------------------------- | Account | Default | Allocation |Used & Pending SUs| Balance | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |082858321140| N| 5000.00| -57.31| 4942.69| --------------------------------------------------------------------- |082858329759| Y| 5000.00| -1163.09| 3836.91| ---------------------------------------------------------------------
The "-l" option list all projects for the user xxx on Ada.
Example 2: "myproject -d 082858321140"
Your default project account now is 082858321140.
The "-d xxxxxxx" set project xxxxxxx to be the default project to charge when jobs submitted. The default project can be override by "#BSUB -P yyyyyy" in a job script for a particular job.
Example 3: "myproject -j 082858329759"

The "-j" option list jobs completed on Ada. If the extra "-s" and "-e" option are not specified, all jobs in current fiscal year (starting from 9/1 to 8/31 next year) are listed.
Example 4: "myproject -p 082858329759"
-------------------------------------------------------------------- | Job Id |State|#Cores|#EffectiveCores|Walltime(H)|Pending SUs| -------------------------------------------------------------------- |Total Jobs: 0 |Total Pending SUs: 0.00 | --------------------------------------------------------------------
The "-p" option lists the pending (uncompleted jobs) pre-charged to the project specified for this option. The pre-charged SUs listed in the output will be removed after the jobs are completed, and those completed jobs will be charged by their actual used SUs.
Eos
myams - Shows and manages all your personal project accounts on the system.
The commands below allow you to submit jobs:
On eos:
qsub - You may use the standard qsub command included in TORQUE/PBS to submit your jobs. However, you may use the PBS resource billto= to specify which project account you would like to use.
Please use the system's man pages to learn more about these commands.
